Meet Shirley Squirrely Kinsey
Shirley is an author residing in Wyoming, after living in Colorado for the past 45 years. She truly loves Colorado, but many changes have taken place and she was in need of a calmer, quieter way of life. Wyoming has proved to be a beautiful state to retire in with its surreal backdrops and abundant wildlife. She loves living among people who truly love the west and all it has to offer. You could find her on any given road, walking and enjoying the tranquility. She now has the time to write since retiring in 2020, during the covid event. There never seemed to be enough time to ponder on stories while working full time in a warehouse, and raising a family. Time goes by all so quickly, though, and the family is all grown and gone. After retiring now, there is no better time to pursue a dream that was always in the back of her mind. With one book published, work has begun on another book. She hopes the next one will bring some giggles as it will be a more light-hearted story. Stay tuned for more updates.
When she isn't writing, she's making sourdough bread, and that has become a passion for her. Everything sourdough, from bread to biscuits, english muffins, pancakes, monkey bread, and pizza. The only problem with all that sourdough is the need to work it off after consuming it, so walking has become the new normal. Every day, working to reach the maximum amount of steps, possible. She says, "Don't knock it till you try it. Very cathartic." Her other passion is music. The afternoons are usually filled with rock and roll streaming from the speakers. The louder, the better. She loves live music events, especially if they are at Red Rocks Ampitheater in Denver. It doesn't matter who you see there, the concert will be amazing. There's something about being at a concert and having the volume vibrate through your bones. A time to dance like no one is watching. It's the simple things in life that make her happy. Also a love for God and the contentment He brings in her life.
Why the squirrely in her name? Her entire family has called her that forever, and besides, what's not cute about a squirrel?
